Thank you to the DCBIA and its member businesses (especially those on England Ave) and the City of Courtenay for their support of this market, it was a great success!
The local bounty is in at the Market!
This month at the market you'll find: Locally grown beets, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, kale, chard, lettuce, leeks, herbs, peppers, squash, garlic, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, rutabaga, radishes, eggplant, turnips and mushrooms. As well as eggs, cheese, yogurt, and gelato, honey and healthy body products, amazing baked goods including gluten free options, take home meals, soups and sauces, local salt and spice mixes. Also locally raised bison, beef, goat, lamb, venison, poultry and sustainably harvested halibut, salmon and tuna, shrimp and prawns. Each week features one of our fabulous concession vendors to provide you with a yummy breakfast. All this to the backdrop of your favorite local musicians!
We are a year round market comprised of your friends and neighbors. We strive to offer you the freshest and most delicious bounty grown or produced right here in the fertile Comox Valley. Please come and fill your basket at our market where you will find beautiful produce from our gardens, locally made artisanal foods that reflect the diverse heritage of our members, excellent fresh-baked breads and pastries, fish from local fishers, tender lamb; beef; goat and pork fed on valley grains and grasses and so much more. Please check our Farmers & Vendors page for a complete list of who we are and what we bring to the market.
Our little market has grown thanks to the support of you, the people of our community. Our goal is to re-pay that support with our hard work and dedication to bringing you the freshness and the flavors of our lovely valley home. We love what we do and are committed to create through our market, and in concert with local agricultural agencies, a "place for agriculture" right here in the valley. Please keep an eye out for us as we work towards that goal.
In the summer we operate every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 noon at the Comox Valley Fairgrounds on Headquarters road, across the street from Vanier School. We also run a seasonal midweek market July and August in downtown Courtenay on England Ave between 5th and 6th streets from 9-12:00. In fall and winter we will be at the Native Sons Hall on Cliffe at the foot of Fourth Avenue in downtown Courtenay. Please click here, or on the Contact/Map menu item, for a map.
