This Sat. May 23 from 9am to noon, join “Chefs at the Market” for a More than Meat & Veggies food-tasting event that brings together local chefs and producers to showcase the array of spring flavours fresh for the picking at the Farmers’ Market.
“This on-site collaboration between chefs and producers is the perfect match to show market visitors the delicious connections between farm, food and fork, notes Chef Lesley Stav, president of the North Vancouver Island Chefs Association (NVICA). It’s a way to show our appreciation for those who grow, harvest and process what we eat in the Comox Valley.”
CV Farmers’ Market executive director Vicki Brown also welcomes the unique collaboration. “It’s always a treat that we look forward to because we never know what delicious dishes these skilled chefs will create. Visiting the farmers’ stands first thing in the morning the chefs will collect a range of product and then feature the ingredients in on-the-spot cooking demonstrations. Every visitor at the market is invited to watch the demos and enjoy tasting the free samples,” invites Brown.
