Farmer Appreciation Day

The BC Association of Farmers Market's Farmers Appreciation Week runs September 8th – 15th, 2014 and will be celebrated at select farmers’ markets across BC. This week is an important time to reflect on the contribution that farming in BC has on all of us and on how we can support those who bring us healthy and bountiful food. “BC farmers are our best source for fresh, healthy, local food,” says Jon Bell, BCAFM President.

Farmers Market Moves back to Exhibition Grounds for another great season of local food

Spring is here and that means the Farmers Market is on the move back to the exhibition grounds this week and every Saturday from 9-12 until late October. Vickey Brown, the Markets Executive Director is excited about expanding markets this year. “Our customers are asking for more opportunities to shop at the market so we’re working hard to make that happen. With the City and DCBIA’s support, we’ll bring the Wednesday market downtown for peak season midweek markets from July through September. We’re also working with the Comox BIA to bring summer evening markets to downtown Comox.”
