Family operated Century Farm producing grass-fed, hormone-free, beef, lamb, goat meat, spun wool, quilt batts and fleece which is for sale from the farm or at local Farmers’ Markets. Also breeders of registered Border Cheviot and polled Dorset sheep.
Heritage apples - Red and Yellow Gravensteins, Cox, Bramley, Russett. Pears - Bosc, d'Angou, Bartlet. Grown without pesticides on our small farm near Chickadee lake on Denman island. From September to December I'm at the market selling apples and pears by the pound and the box as well as pasterurized apple juice.
Quality and freshness are our priority on our farm. We grow beautiful greenhouse peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant and basil. Our sweet bell peppers are eaten like an apple, our cucumbers crunch and our tomatoes come in all sorts of colours! We use absolutely no pesticides. Grown with passion and pride. We are a nut farm: we have about 12 acres of hazelnuts and walnuts, and a few edible chestnut trees. We sell nuts in the shell, shelled nuts, and walnut and hazelnut oil which we make ourselves in an expeller press (cold pressed). We generally start our sales at the market in mid to late October, depending on the harvest.
Eatmore Sprouts & Greens Ltd. is a Certified Organic Farm producing a variety of sprouts and greens on 3.75 acres in Courtenay. We provide fresh, locally grown, organic sprouts year round in the Comox Valley and beyond for a happier, healthier planet. During the growing season production expands to include a wide variety of vegetables, forage foods, perennial bedding plants, herbs and cut flowers. Eatmore Sprouts is a family run business. Glenn and Carmen Wakeling, the company owners, have two wonderful kids who have been raised eating sprouts and greens. The Eatmore Family also includes over 35 employees, some having been with us for 10+ years. We can't wait to share our amazing food with you!
Country Aire Farm is a small farm that offers bedding and vegetable plants in the spring, seasonal vegetables and fruits during the Summer, Fall and Winter, all grown without pesticides, herbicides or commercial fertilizers. Cottage farm produces naturally raised free range chickens for eggs, and pastured portk without hormones or antibiotics. All available at the Farmers Market Saturdays year round and Wednesdays in the summer, or visit us on the farm.
Clever Crow is made up of Lia and Brian McCormick who have lived in the Valley for 18 years and have a passion for growing food and enhancing the food on your plate. They bring their locally produced artisan sea salts and spice blends, popular mixed salad greens and abundance of veggies grown sustainably and naturally to the Saturday Market year round, and the Wednesday Market through the summer.
Bill and Joyce retired to the Comox Valley in 2003. Bill was born and raised near Tsolum school and graduated from that school. Joyce nursed in Victoria for almost 40 yrs. Our wish is to share with others, at a reasonable price, the bounty of our farm. Produce is raised naturally, as are our animals. Our main product is Cornish hens, which are very popular at the market.
